Physiotherapy

Physical Therapy is the provision of services to people and populations to develop, maintain and restore maximum movement and functional ability to those that are threatened by the process of aging, injury or disease.

The rehabilitation process is done through assessment and treatment of the body and mind using conservative methods such as education, reassurance, exercise, pain relief modalities and manual therapy.

Active Exercise

Active Exercise involves controlled physical activity that aids in the development of strength, flexibility, and endurance. The philosophy centers around the enhancement of the structural and functional components of the human body — which  includes muscles, joints, ligaments, heart,  lungs, and other systems.

Active Exercise involves many components including:

  • Flexibility

  • Conditioning

  • Strengthening

  • Functional Training

Soft Tissue Therapy

Soft Tissue Therapy such as active myofascial release and massage therapy utilize systematic therapeutic stroking, rubbing, or kneading of the skin, and underlying muscle, and other soft tissue.  The soft tissue manipulation then in-turn affects the circulatory (blood & lymph), muscular, fascial, and nervous systems of the body.

This type of therapy is effective in controlling pain, swelling and inflammation.  Also very helpful in reducing stress and creating a sense of relaxation and well being for the purpose of physical and psychological relaxation, improvement of circulation, relief of sore muscles, and other therapeutic and physiological benefits.

PHYSIOTHERAPY CLINIC CALGARY FAQs

During your initial visit, you’ll undergo a comprehensive assessment where a physiotherapist will discuss your medical history, assess your condition, and identify your treatment goals. This session is designed to create a personalized treatment plan tailored to your specific needs, incorporating a combination of hands-on therapy, exercises, and possibly other modalities. You’ll also receive guidance on what you can do at home to aid your recovery. The goal is to ensure a clear understanding of your path towards improved health and wellness.

The frequency of your physio sessions will depend on your individual condition and the specific treatment plan developed by your physiotherapist. Some patients may require multiple sessions per week, while others may benefit from less frequent visits. As you progress, the frequency of your appointments may adjust to reflect your improving condition and to support your journey towards full recovery.

Physiotherapy is beneficial for individuals experiencing a wide range of conditions affecting physical function and mobility. If you’re suffering from pain, injury, a chronic condition, or recovering from surgery, physiotherapy can likely help improve your quality of life. The best way to determine if physiotherapy is right for you is to book an assessment with one of our qualified physiotherapists at Caleo Health. They will evaluate your condition and discuss potential treatment options tailored to your specific needs.
